As someone with a disability, one of the things I often hear is assumptions about performance. Usually it’s no one who knows me, or an overheard conversation, maybe it’s a scrap of overheard conversation or a side-note in a newspaper editorial.
What I hear is fundamental lack…

10 Commandments for interacting with the chronically ill

In the realm of chronic illness, one of our more challenging tasks can be gaining support from others. As if finding a knowledgeable and caring doctor wasn’t…
hey some fun facts
- polyamory is ok
- polyamory is not cheating
- polyamory is not gonna make you a ‘slut’ or a ‘whore’, nor anyone else for that matter
- polyamory is just when you have enough love to go round for more than one person, and as long as all partners are okay with it, that is their business and not yours.
None. Why can’t you just accept your lightbulb the way it is?
How many trans people does it take to change a lightbulb?
Only one, but they’ll need a note from two…
Perfection ladies and gentleman! I have FOUND IT.

- Never wear a binder so tight that you have a hard time breathing in it.
- Never wear a binder or binding device that doesn’t have a form of elastic within the fibers. Your binder must allow you to breathe in and out without any trouble.
- Never wear a binder for more than…
I hate passive aggressive roommates that don’t understand boundaries, triggers, or anything at all that’s important.
Some people don’t look sick. They have invisible disabilities. So what is it like to live with an invisible disability? Read this and find out.
Chicago FTM in need of a place to stay.
I need a place to stay in Chicago (preferably the city proper because I do not have money for transit). I will be without a place to stay from the second week in May till mid-late June. I would appreciate if someone could let me crash for a night or two during this time. I’m 22 years old, a college student, gay, FTM (pre-everything), and a huge nerd. I am generally quiet. I have my own sleeping surface that I can bring. (tumblr)
I’m going to be receiving help from transpride778899, a blog I recently stumbled upon. The blog owner’s mission statement is to give back to the trans* community by donating money raised by selling transpridemerch.
the profit from these bracelets will go towards…
This one is about mobility devices and the freedom that goes along with them. Also more details about me and my chair.
You do understand that it doesn’t mean ‘die all cis people’, right?
It means ‘metaphorically ‘die’ transphobes/oppressive cisfucks and the social structures that allow them to exist’.
In other words, IT IS COMPRESSING THE TRANS RIGHTS MOVEMENT’S FUCKING GOAL INTO THREE WORDS.
Do you want to be treated like an actual person and not a lesser being?
Thought so.
Hi! I just started a tumblr, the Transgender Couchsurfing Network. After seeing dozens of posts come across my dash about displaced or homeless trans people needing places to crash, I decided that there had to be a way to organize these posts somehow, and to put those in…
guess what!

Check your privilege: learn from someone who knows first hand, because unless you’re part of the oppressed group, you can’t know or empathize.

Hermione went alone and got attacked by a troll
Moaning Myrtle went alone too and was killed by a giant snake.
Katie Bell also went alone and was cursed by an opal necklace.
Ginny went in alone and ended up held hostage in the Chamber of Secrets by Tom Riddle
I had a dream where one of my teachers told the class I was a boy and they should treat me accordingly and a guy in my class called me mate and they all called me James.
Man I hate dreams like that.
I just get really disappointed when I wake up.
I had these dreams for a while about a year ago where I would dream I was male bodied and I had met a perfect girl. I would wake up and just cry.
Virginity:
- is sexist
- is heteronormative
- commodifies sex
- commodifies young cis-het white women
- contributes to rape culture
- contributes to slut-shaming
- erases queer folk
- erases transfolk
- frames a woman’s worth as inversely proportional to the number of dicks that have been inside her

What the hell, people. You can clearly see that she is disabled, and that the computer chairs you have left scattered in the aisles are VERY OBVIOUSLY in her way.
I do not believe that her dog has been trained to move those chairs.
So, thirty people in her general area.
Why did I need to wander over there and fix things for her?
YES FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY.
If there is someone in a wheelchair in the class PUSH IN YOUR CHAIRS. It’s not that difficult, and it will save me loads and loads of time.
Cis people: You’re disgusting worthless freak of nature.
Cis people: You don’t deserve to be alive.
Cis people: Nobody will ever want to touch you.
Cis people: I hope you kill yourself.
Cis people: You don’t deserve any medical care.
Cis people:…
There is a list of my people. It is 645 names long the last time I looked at it. Six hundred and forty five individuals who committed the crime of being who they were. They transitioned in some way and were murdered for being trans*. These murders are not a new thing. They have been going on long before I was born, and no one seems to be doing much about it.
Where is the tolerance for diversity? Where is the creed be yourself? Where is it among the bodies, the corpses, beaten, bruised, bloodied, never again able to be themselves?
They were strong, stronger than any cis person will understand. Whether through desperation or through anger, these people carried themselves out of the shells that were the bodies they were born into to become something that was more fitting to them. They faced unemployment, homelessness, and more fear than you can ever imagine. And they did it in anyway.
There is beauty in their courage. Some fools decided they couldn’t stand the beauty, couldn’t admire the courage instead of challenging it, and they ended those lives because they could, because they were different.
