hey some fun facts

  • polyamory is ok
  • polyamory is not cheating
  • polyamory is not gonna make you a ‘slut’ or a ‘whore’, nor anyone else for that matter
  • polyamory is just when you have enough love to go round for more than one person, and as long as all partners are okay with it, that is their business and not yours.

NEED COUCH - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

transcouchnetwork:

Chicago FTM in need of a place to stay.

I need a place to stay in Chicago (preferably the city proper because I do not have money for transit). I will be without a place to stay from the second week in May till mid-late June. I would appreciate if someone could let me crash for a night or two during this time. I’m 22 years old, a college student, gay, FTM (pre-everything), and a huge nerd. I am generally quiet. I have my own sleeping surface that I can bring. (tumblr)

Dear trans sellouts who hate Die Cis Scum:

xstealthyx:

You do understand that it doesn’t mean ‘die all cis people’, right?

It means ‘metaphorically ‘die’ transphobes/oppressive cisfucks and the social structures that allow them to exist’.

In other words, IT IS COMPRESSING THE TRANS RIGHTS MOVEMENT’S FUCKING GOAL INTO THREE WORDS.

Do you want to be treated like an actual person and not a lesser being?

Thought so.

I just get really disappointed when I wake up.

I had these dreams for a while about a year ago where I would dream I was male bodied and I had met a perfect girl. I would wake up and just cry.

“The words “he” and “she” are deceptively simple, but they carry tremendous weight. Getting the pronouns right with a trans person is a matter of respect, an acknowledgment of his or her most basic identity. I saw this in the joy and relief in my own son’s face the first time I referred to him as “him.” Those tiny two- and three-letter words say, “I see you as you see yourself.” At best, the wrong pronoun can cause a transgender person to have feelings of dysphoria and anxiety; at worst, it can put him or her in immediate danger.” —Gretchen Peters: Words (via sociolab)

VIRGINITY IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT

Virginity:

  • is sexist
  • is heteronormative
  • commodifies sex
  • commodifies young cis-het white women
  • contributes to rape culture
  • contributes to slut-shaming
  • erases queer folk
  • erases transfolk

“Disabled people - men and women - have little opportunity to portray our own experiences within the general culture, or within radical movements. Our experience is isolated, individualised; the definitions which society places on us centre on judgements of individual capacities and personalities. This lack of a voice, of representation of our subjective reality, means that it is difficult for non-disabled feminists to incorporate our reality into their research and their theories, unless it is in terms of the way the non-disabled world sees us.” —Jenny Morris, Pride Against Prejudice (1993)

“Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions.. for safety on the streets… for child care, for social welfare… for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law. If someone says ‘Oh, I’m not a feminist,’ I ask ‘Why? What’s your problem?” —Dale Splendor, 1985

I do not believe that her dog has been trained to move those chairs.

So, thirty people in her general area.

Why did I need to wander over there and fix things for her?

YES FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY.

the fuck is this: How trans* people use "die cis scum" → givesustherope.tumblr.com

thefullmetalbitch:

dustinthebubbles:

Cis people: You’re disgusting worthless freak of nature.
Cis people: You don’t deserve to be alive.
Cis people: Nobody will ever want to touch you.
Cis people: I hope you kill yourself.
Cis people: You don’t deserve any medical care.
Cis people:…

There is a list of my people. It is 645 names long the last time I looked at it. Six hundred and forty five individuals who committed the crime of being who they were. They transitioned in some way and were murdered for being trans*. These murders are not a new thing. They have been going on long before I was born, and no one seems to be doing much about it.

Where is the tolerance for diversity? Where is the creed be yourself? Where is it among the bodies, the corpses, beaten, bruised, bloodied, never again able to be themselves?

They were strong, stronger than any cis person will understand. Whether through desperation or through anger, these people carried themselves out of the shells that were the bodies they were born into to become something that was more fitting to them. They faced unemployment, homelessness, and more fear than you can ever imagine. And they did it in anyway.

There is beauty in their courage. Some fools decided they couldn’t stand the beauty, couldn’t admire the courage instead of challenging it, and they ended those lives because they could, because they were different.
